A variety of programs are offered at York Teen Haven to help youth grow in their faith and as leaders in their communities:
Prime Time
Boys age 13-17
Learning to deal with life’s trials before they strike so teens can
respond God’s way.
Mondays 6-8pm
Tuesday Younger Boys Group
Boys age 9-12
After school program designed to give your child an opportunity to get together with other boys their age to learn about God in a safe environment. Sports activities included as part of the program.
Tuesdays 4-5:30pm
Calvary Clubs and Youth Chapel
Hosted by Calvary Baptist Church
Boys and Girls age 9-17
Calvary clubs encourages young people to learn different character traits throughout the school year. Each child has an opportunity to develop life skills that will strengthen them and your family. Youth Chapel gets teenagers to have a life that is built around the Word of God instead of the world.
Wednesdays 6-8:30pm
Older Boys Bible Study
Boys age 13-17
Teenagers get off the streets to hear the Word of God, make decisions about the direction of their life and have some fun playing basketball.
Thursdays 7-9:30pm
Release Time Programs
Teen Haven helps provide leadership to Release Time programs in two local schools. Students may attend this Bible study at a neighboring church during school hours. There is singing, teaching, and laughter.
Jackson Elementary - Mondays 1:30-2:30pm
Phineas Davis Elem. - Thursdays 1:30-2:30pm
Student Leadership Training
14-18 year olds
Leadership groups are also available to teens who demonstrate faithfulness and increasing maturity. Special bible studies and training sessions help prepare teens to serve as leaders both at camp and in the city. Teens can move up from volunteer junior counselors at camp to cabin supervisors and even become paid interns.
