In the Men’s Emergency Shelter of Water Street Mission, we desire to create an environment of accountability and responsibility. This is rescue work, and the intensity can be similar to an emergency room setting. Some of our men have been living in survival mode for many years, battling addictions to escape the pain. Others have experienced financial difficulties and need time to save money before starting on their own again. Water Street Mission’s goal is to help men find employment, a place to call home, and a solution to the emptiness they’ve been feeling all their lives.
Provisions
In the Men’s Emergency Shelter at Water Street Mission, we provide a safe, healing environment where clients receive the essentials of life: food, shelter, clothing as needed and the love of Jesus Christ. We work to reach each client to determine their interest and readiness for one of our programs in Water Street Mission’s Men’s Discipleship Center.
Checking In
The Men’s Emergency Shelter offers a seven day bed for homeless individuals in Lancaster County. If someone outside of Lancaster County calls Water Street Mission for help, staff will refer that man to the shelters in their own county where help can more easily been accessed.
