Emergency Shelter
Men, women and children in Lancaster County may find warm safe shelter in a healing environment at Water Street Mission. All guests experience:
- Food: up to three (3) meals a day
- Shelter, including hot showers
- Clothing if needed
- the Love of Jesus Christ
- Counseling session(s) to determine the next steps
- Access to Water Street Health Services (for those who qualify)
Length of Stay: Emergency Shelter
Upon commitment to the safety guidelines, men are offered warm, safe shelter for 7 days. Single women or women with children are offered warm, safe shelter for 30 days. Families are welcome into our Family Shelter, where they can live together in an emergency situation.
Women who are working towards jobs, housing, or education may stay longer in our short-term shelter (3-6 months).
Men without life-debilitating issues (like addictions) may consider our Work Program, where they live at Water Street Mission while looking for work and saving up for an apartment.
Long-term programs are available for men or women who want a fresh start to rebuilding their lives.
